Kiss 'N'Ride Request
In order to avoid any accidents with respect to the use of our Kiss 'n' Ride and parking lot areas during the morning drop-off and afternoon pick-up times, please comply with posted signage and traffic flow protocols on a daily basis; do not park your vehicle in the Kiss 'n' Ride lanes.
If needed, you can park on the street, where permitted, or in the John Cabot lower parking lot when picking up your child after school. If you have a family member or a babysitter looking after your children before and after school, please share this request with them.
Families who reside within walking distance are encouraged to leave their vehicles at home so that other community members have a place to park their vehicle during the afternoon pick-up times.
Thank you for your cooperation with this important safety request.
Student Accident Insurance

Old Republic Insurance Group was awarded the student accident insurance contract. The school has distributed brochures to all students.
As required by the Education Act and the Ministry of Education, the Dufferin-Peel Catholic District School Board annually provides parents with information about cost-effective student accident insurance coverage. Although enrolment is voluntary, the board encourages parents to take advantage of the inexpensive insurance coverage, especially if their child/children participate in sports, excursions/field trips or if parents do not have dental insurance coverage.
St. Vincent de Paul Hot Weather Protocol
As the weather gets very hot, we are trying to find ways to stay cool at St. Vincent de Paul School. Students are encouraged to bring refillable water bottles and refill these as needed throughout the day. In addition, they should bring sunhats and dress appropriately for the weather. Sunscreen is strongly suggested; please ensure your child puts it on at home. Students are reminded daily, on hot days, to limit their strenuous activities and find shaded areas to sit when at recess.
Our custodian will open all windows in the morning to let the early morning cool air circulate through the building; lights will be dimmed or turned off and physical activities limited. Our Catholic School Council has provided each classroom with 2 fans which help move the air.
In case of extreme heat, our neighbouring school, John Cabot has generously offered several classrooms for us to use. Please contact the school office if you have any questions.
Thank you for working with us to maintain safety and well-being of your child.
Personal Electronic Devices on Board Premises and/or Board Sanctioned Events for Educational Purposes
The Dufferin-Peel Catholic District School Board acknowledges the value of the use of technology for learning. Students are permitted to register and use personal electronic devices (PEDs) on board premises and/or board sanctioned events for educational purposes, under the direction of staff and only with parent/guardian permission. Students may register their PED for the purpose of connecting to the board wireless network. Students are required to adhere to the student "Personal Electronic Device Used with WI-FI Network Student Agreement" (GF 337) and the "Network User Application and Agreement." (GF066) Please be advised that the Dufferin-Peel Catholic District School Board will not be responsible for any cost incurred through the use of personal data plans.
PEDs are to be used responsibly and should not interfere with learning; their use must comply with the Catholic Code of Conduct, board policies and procedures. Any personal communications (i.e., phone calls, text messages, etc.) will continue to be directed through the main office. Failure to comply with these guidelines may result in a loss of PED privileges and/or any other consequences deemed necessary by school administration.
The school principal may authorize limited acceptable uses of personal electronic devices during school-sanctioned activities for a specific designated purpose outside of instructional spaces and/or in common areas.
Students are responsible for the safety and security of PEDs at all times and the Board assumes no responsibility for lost, damaged or stolen devices.
